The
information the attached copies of Police reports on the piracy of the S. 3. Wong Shek Kung", a Chinese owned ship flying the Chinese flag, and registered at Canton. piracy took place at about 5.00 a... on the 11th December when the ship was about 60 miles out of Hong Kong. Mr. Hils Harring of Sweden, the Master, was the only European on
board.
2. Upon receipt of the first message the Police
comunicated with the Naval Authorities and remained in touch with them until it was established that the piracy
was not the work of any Bias Bay gang. The Consul General
was also informed at once. On her arrival the ship was met
by a Police Launch outside the Harbour and escorted to her anchorage. Police were placed on the ship. The ship was thoroughly searched and the crew and passengers detained temporarily for interrogation as to the facts of the piracy, and investigation as to whether any of them were concerned in it. All were subsequently released.

It is quite clear that the piracy was the
work of the "number one" Fireman of the ship aided by four
